Manifesto

The NOT SANTA manifesto is currently being developed and will be signed off in July 2021.

All we can say at this point is that NOT SANTA is a benevolent fund donated by an anonymous benefactor to help support creative songwriters financially and through mentorship.

The eligibility of the funding, which will be a minimum of £250 per successful applicant, will be determined through the submission of a song and NOT SANTA terms.

Criteria: Is the song… a) Creative b) Thought provoking c) Genre evolving

The songs will be published anonymously on a playlist alongside published artists (just to spice things up a bit - and to level the playing field), and shortlisted using a public voting system, probably on a Facebook group.

A panel of music industry judges (published artists, journalists, producers, dj’s etc.) will weigh up the public response, their own personal feelings for the song and check the NOT SANTA criteria to determine where the funding should go.

The £250+ can be released as a NOT SANTA gift or used as mentorship credit, or a bit of both.

Either way, the idea is to help the songwriter connect with folks in the industry, prove that their song(s) have real merit and potential because their work is creative, thought provoking and progressive.
